One of our core values here at Christ church is Koinonia (Christian fellowship or communion, with God or, more commonly, with fellow Christians) so we work closely with the families and the local community to offer support in times of need.
One of the ways that we do this is through working with the Cedarwood Trust. This is a charity base in North Shields whose mission it is to build social capital in communities supporting people to have increased health, education, leisure and economic opportunities. Focusing on core themes: pastoral care, food poverty, child development, second bite training academy, elders and community care.

Christmas 2020 is going to be a challenge for us all. If you do require any extra support the Cedarwood Trust is available until 4:30 Wednesday 23rd to support with meals, hampers as well as other support.
If anyone needs toys then they need only get a letter or picture to the Trust by Saturday 19th 2020 and then come on Tuesday 22nd where elves will treat them to toys and treats.

We have been so grateful to the Cedarwood Trust as they have provided a Christmas stocking for every single child in school. So throughout 2021 we will be holding small fundraising opportunities to help support this fantastic charity.
