Our visions and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
School Ethos Statement
As a Church of England school we consider our Christian roots as vital to our identity. In partnership with the parish church and diocese we aim to maintain and enhance this identity across all areas of school life, supporting children in their spiritual and personal growth alongside their academic development.
We aim for high standards in all aspects of the curriculum and are dedicated to raising achievement through a broad and balanced curriculum. Christian beliefs and values provide the context for a nurturing environment where every child is respected and encouraged to achieve their full potential.
The Christian Values chosen by the children are Respect, Forgiveness, Trust, Compassion, Friendship, Thankfulness and Koinonia. All stakeholders involved with our school then worked together to create characters that will explain what the values all mean and how we can all demonstrate these values throughout life.
Our school motto of ‘Let your light shine’ comes from Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
This expresses the belief that everyone has something of value to offer and our hope that as a school with staff, children, parents and governors working closely together, we can be a positive influence in our community.
We work very closely with Christ Church, which is situated next door to school. We visit every Thursday for worship as well as celebrating other events in the Christian calendar.
