Governors

The Role of Our Governing Body

Our governing body is dedicated to ensuring every pupil receives the best possible education. Governors provide strategic leadership, setting a clear vision and establishing strong accountability for both academic standards and financial management.

To stay actively involved, the full governing body meets half-termly, supported by regular committee meetings and ongoing school visits.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Vision: Defining and supporting the school’s vision, ethos, and long-term strategy.

Executive Accountability: Holding school leaders to account for pupil progress, educational performance, and staff management.

Financial Oversight: Ensuring sound financial oversight so school funds are used effectively and deliver value.

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

On behalf of the governing body, I would like to offer you a very warm welcome to Christ Church C of E Primary School.

Guided by our school vision, “Let your light shine,” we take immense pride in nurturing kind, caring, and confident individuals. We celebrate every child’s unique gifts and achievements, creating an environment where pupils are inspired to flourish academically, socially, and spiritually.

Christ Church is a vibrant hive of activity. Our dedicated staff go above and beyond—both inside and outside the classroom—delivering engaging learning experiences that motivate, challenge, and delight our pupils. We are committed to helping every child discover their strengths, build lifelong skills, and take pride in all they achieve.

Strong partnerships with our families are at the heart of everything we do. We keep you closely connected to school life through our website, social media, and messaging platforms, while our experienced office team is always on hand to help. Throughout the year, we host numerous events to bring our school family together, and we actively encourage parents and carers to play an active role in our warm community.

Our experienced Governing Body works closely with leadership to ensure Christ Church continues to thrive. We set a clear strategic direction, maintain robust oversight, and ensure our resources are invested to deliver the greatest benefit for our pupils. Through ongoing training and a diverse range of skills, we are dedicated to supporting high standards across every area of school life.

Our children truly are our best advert. I warmly invite you to visit us to experience our positive, welcoming environment firsthand—you will find hardworking learners, friendly staff, and a school full of light and enthusiasm.

We look forward to welcoming your family to our Christ Church community.

Foundation Governor

I have been a governor at Christ Church since 2021; I really enjoy this role and am grateful that I am able to be involved in the future of the school. I have two sons who attend Christ Church and I also volunteer in school. I previously worked as a primary school teacher for 10 years; most of my experience was in Early Years. I was also responsible for SEND and phonics. I have a particular interest in behaviour and SEMH.
